Friday, December 5th, 2008 | General, Special Nights, Uncategorized | No Comments

Yes its that time of year and the girls of Tipsy’s have a great Christmas and New Year lined up for you.

And here is the message to you all out there in the snowy cold Uk and Europe.

Dear Friends,
At last we can share with you our magical order of events over The Christmas and New Year season.
We are planning a quiet and peaceful Christmas Eve with our usual menu served with a glass of warmed mulled wine on arrival; after all, we need to be refreshed and wide awake for Santa the next day! You may stay a little longer is you wish and keep us company at Tipsy’s Bar - there are no hard and fast rules!
There will be a Christmas Day Brunch 2 Lunch menu served between 9 - 3pm where you can relax on the terrace with your friends and hopefully soak up some rays.
Christmas dinner will start at 4.30 PM; this will give you chance to freshen up and find a little sparkle to wear. We will start the early evening with chilled Poinsettia Champagne Cocktails before you are invited to your tables.
A Boxing Day with a difference is planned at Tipsy Terrace; the usual daytime menu will run from 9.30am to 7pm along with some special dishes such as Mushrooms with a Creamy Mustard Sauce served on naughty Fried Bread; St. Stephens Day Pie; “Gobble, Gobble Up Turkey Club Sandwiches”; and Good King Wencless Mini Pizzas (Deep-an - Crisp and Even!!) We will also be serving our famous Tipsy’s Light Beer Battered Fish & Chips with mushy or fresh garden peas.
Samantha Dee will be joining us at 1ish for some live entertainment where you can enjoy some easy listening or even a bop or two.
You may stay a while longer if you wish, but Tipsy Terrace Restaurant will be closed on Boxing Day Night and will re-open on Saturday morning with our usual menu (we need to recover too).
New Years Eve will be a very special one! ……..
“A Dash of Red”
You may wear as little or as much of it as you would like all we ask is for a gesture towards our New Years Eve Theme!
There will be a Flirtini Champagne Cocktail Reception at 7.30 for 8pm with our live Sax Musician Stevie G, followed with your celebration evening meal. You may dance your way towards Big Ben at midnight and enjoy you lucky grapes and bubbles with everyone. Coaches at 1ish although we are flexible!
New Years Day gives us all a chance to recover together on the terrace with our Brunch 2 Late Lunch menu  served from 10am onwards.
We can also check on how our New Years Resolutions are going! The restaurant will be closed on New Year’s Day night.
We look forward to spending a very special a magical Christmas time with you all and here’s to a wonderful New Year ahead.
With fantastic wishes,
Sally & Sarah xxx

Fiona’s Farewell Tourny

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 | General | No Comments

You will be missed Fi, from all the tennis team.

You will be missed Fi, from all the tennis team.

Fiona has been a big part of the Los Gigantes tennis scene over the period that she has been here, working for Banco Santander.

But now her contract is up and she has made the decision to return to the Uk.

So last week a tennis tournament was held for her, and a total of 24 players and 30 others turned up to give her a farewell hopefully she will not forget.

After the event, which Fiona manged to win, a buffet was put on by the Tipsy Terrace team, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

We look forward to seeing her out here again for the odd holiday.

Make a splash in Los Gigantes

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 | General | No Comments

It’s all very well being able to see the cliffs and feel the sea air, but on a hot day wouldn’t you just love to have a dip in the pool. In the garden at Tipsy Terrace there are 2 pools waiting for you and the family, a large one, heated just enough to take the chill off, for your swimming pleasure, and a smaller one for the children to splash around safely in.

The pools are open from 8.30am to 6pm and you can use them for just 3 euros, a sunbed for the surrounding grass area, will cost just 1.50 euros. it’s just a short flip flop stroll from the bar area, so you can take a cold drink to keep you company and some food, but don’t swim straight after a full meal. Pool side barbecues will be becoming a semi regular feature, and the view through to the cliffs of Los Gigantes will remind you how lucky you are to be in Tenerife.

If you have always fancied giving scuba diving a go, we have just the thing for you. local experts Interskill will be offering test dives in the controlled safety of the Tipsy Terrace pool. It’s a great way to see if you want to pursue your interest to the open water, and the children can pick up some basic skills and safety guides, as their confidence builds in a safe environment. Just ask at the bar about the next trial session or check out the Interskill website.

Tipsy Terrace, at the heart of Los Gigantes

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 | General | No Comments

Come on down

Welcome, don’t be shy, come on in to Los Gigantes Sports & Gardens, that’s Tipsy Terrace to our friends, and after all, this is where friends meet friends. We are Sally and Sarah, new owners of this long established tennis centre, outdoor heated swimming pool, bar and bistro, mini golf, gardens and social hub of Los Gigantes, a very special village on the west coast of Tenerife.

We have been working hard over the last few months to give the place a full make over, and we think you will be impressed by what you see. Basically everything has been opened up, the indoor area has large picture windows at one end, opening out to the swimming pool and gardens, the outside terrace has a covered section and an even bigger space open to give a clear view of the children playing at the pool, or to simply raise a cold glass to those enthusiasts running themselves ragged on one of the three newly resurfaced tennis courts.

The plants and shrubs in the garden have been given a smart haircut, so they guide you down to the pool area, as you pass by the statues and our semi circle seating spots, quickly christened as Tipsy moons by our regulars. You can bring your food and drink down here if you like, and enjoy the views of the towering cliffs that give Los Gigantes its name.

Anyone for mini golf or pool? We have both of those if you want to bring your competitive side with you. Best of all, be sure to bring your appetite, from breakfast, through lunch and evening meals, we will delight, satisfy and surprise you with a great range of home cooked food, thirst quenching drinks and good company. Stick around, we have so much more to tell you about, back in a moment, just browse the menu while we check on the cooking.
