Tipsy Terrace is the place to eat, at any time of the day, from the 8.30 am opening, breakfast can ease you into another sunny day in Los Gigantes. There is a full daytime menu of the best meats, chicken and fish, all served with salad or vegetables for company, or if you prefer, a light snack just to keep you going. From 7pm, the menu changes to full evening meals, good home cooked favourites served with style.

Theme nights will become a regular feature, so look out on the specials board for what’s coming next, but for example, Friday night is fish and chips night and Sunday sees another old favourite, a roast dinner with all the trimmings. The extensive garden area also gives us the chance to do barbecue specials, the pool and the cliffs make a great backdrop.

We hope to anticipate your changing moods, and with a choice of a formal indoor restaurant, the covered patio or the open terrace, we can be as versatile as our menu. Why not test us out, maybe a birthday meal, a romantic evening for 2, an anniversary or a business meeting - go on surprise us. The children are always welcome, but don’t worry the yummy puddings and ice creams aren’t exclusively for them. See you soon.

Make a splash in Los Gigantes

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 | General | No Comments

It’s all very well being able to see the cliffs and feel the sea air, but on a hot day wouldn’t you just love to have a dip in the pool. In the garden at Tipsy Terrace there are 2 pools waiting for you and the family, a large one, heated just enough to take the chill off, for your swimming pleasure, and a smaller one for the children to splash around safely in.

The pools are open from 8.30am to 6pm and you can use them for just 3 euros, a sunbed for the surrounding grass area, will cost just 1.50 euros. it’s just a short flip flop stroll from the bar area, so you can take a cold drink to keep you company and some food, but don’t swim straight after a full meal. Pool side barbecues will be becoming a semi regular feature, and the view through to the cliffs of Los Gigantes will remind you how lucky you are to be in Tenerife.

If you have always fancied giving scuba diving a go, we have just the thing for you. local experts Interskill will be offering test dives in the controlled safety of the Tipsy Terrace pool. It’s a great way to see if you want to pursue your interest to the open water, and the children can pick up some basic skills and safety guides, as their confidence builds in a safe environment. Just ask at the bar about the next trial session or check out the Interskill website.

Many peoples first view of Tipsy Terrace is from the mirador (viewpoint) at the top of the hill into Los Gigantes, the sight of the three tennis courts will get your adrenaline pumping, and that old urge to play will draw you down to see us. All three courts have just been re-surfaced, so now is the time to enjoy a match or two, to build up an appetite for some good home cooked food on our patio.

Courts are 10 euros per hour to hire, and don’t worry if your tennis racket wasn’t high on your list of things to pack, you can hire one for a euro. If you are re-discovering your love of the sport, a new comer or just want to improve your game, you will be pleased to know that we have our own professional coach to polish up your technique. John Debnam has been a popular face at the Los Gigantes tennis club since arriving in Tenerife in 1986, with his LTA PT2 coaching qualifications, and has added to that his Spain Monitor National. Check out his website www.tenniszoo.com or ask at the bar about lessons.

Once you get to a good level, you my find you are hot property, the Los Gigantes tennis club is very active in several age categories, and always on the look out for new members to add to their considerable achievements in the Canarian leagues. Tipsy Terrace, at the heart of Los Gigantes

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008 | General | No Comments

Come on down

Welcome, don’t be shy, come on in to Los Gigantes Sports & Gardens, that’s Tipsy Terrace to our friends, and after all, this is where friends meet friends. We are Sally and Sarah, new owners of this long established tennis centre, outdoor heated swimming pool, bar and bistro, mini golf, gardens and social hub of Los Gigantes, a very special village on the west coast of Tenerife.

We have been working hard over the last few months to give the place a full make over, and we think you will be impressed by what you see. Basically everything has been opened up, the indoor area has large picture windows at one end, opening out to the swimming pool and gardens, the outside terrace has a covered section and an even bigger space open to give a clear view of the children playing at the pool, or to simply raise a cold glass to those enthusiasts running themselves ragged on one of the three newly resurfaced tennis courts.

The plants and shrubs in the garden have been given a smart haircut, so they guide you down to the pool area, as you pass by the statues and our semi circle seating spots, quickly christened as Tipsy moons by our regulars. You can bring your food and drink down here if you like, and enjoy the views of the towering cliffs that give Los Gigantes its name.

Anyone for mini golf or pool? We have both of those if you want to bring your competitive side with you. Best of all, be sure to bring your appetite, from breakfast, through lunch and evening meals, we will delight, satisfy and surprise you with a great range of home cooked food, thirst quenching drinks and good company. Stick around, we have so much more to tell you about, back in a moment, just browse the menu while we check on the cooking.
